'It has a very complete and finished appearanoe. Mr. A. J. H. Elliott was architect and he has designed a very nice little church, jcomplete with chancel, vestry, and vestibule. The floor space is 34 ft. by 24 ft., chancel 20ft. by 16ft., porch 10x8ft., and vestry 10x8ft. The walls are 13ft., with a 7ft. rise to the ceiling, which is of Maryborough pitch pine. The building stands on four-foot blocks, and the roof overhangs two feet. The windows are gothic-headed lancet, frosted, and open on a pivot. As there are six on either side, a great space is available for coolness when all are opened out. There is an arched opening to the Sanctuary, which is carpeted. The font is a large clam shell set in an iron stand, and looks extremely pretty as well as being novel. All the windows have mouldings, which are varnished. The walls are hardwood, and from its color gives the appearance of age. Gas in laid throughout the building,' (Western Champion 6 April 1913) |
